Geek blogging declining?

Some stupid dumb idiot submitted has written an article on Slashdot trying to prove the less popularity of blogging among geeks. Sounds like this guy (check the address) is a 40 year old nerd who had spent his early teenage life near an XT computer in a Bio-dome built by him on his own backyard.

This is what I wrote for a reply: "I don't think this is a decline. As the popularity and need for the Internet is growing so fast, more and more people(consumers) have access to this internet. 10-15 years back mostly geeks or IT pros had access to the internet. At that time even this site ("Slashdot.org - News for Nerds) was not so popular as we see today."

Never seen this guy, but his view on such articles proves that this guy is indeed on some defect over high exposure to the 51/2 floppy racks. Such exposure also results in the slow growth and unexplainable chemistry with some species of goldfishes.

Its about time

Ariel Sharon did his part in leaving Gaza and parts of West Bank. Now I think its our turn to leave that stupid dumb MSN messenger.
Not for those friends who love those xbox, smiley central, and old time college buddies ads. This is not for you, GoogleTalk is so far a good replacement for both MSN messenger and Skype.
With the ability to check mails without visiting gmail, simple appearance and speed are some of the plus points I already marked on this awesome peice of work.
Its like all the people we know have Gmail accounts and the address book is pre-loaded in Googletalk when signed in. This eases the invitation process for friends and buddies.
A Jabber-compatible IM client can be used to access GoogleTalk(for Linux and Mac users).

Thought of a Local search-engine/archive..... DUH?

The rapid growth of the Maldivian blogosphere, local forums, and directories are result of the heavy use and the necessity of internet in the country.
To this day some directories (like maldives pages) are helping us to find what we need within local websites. At the current growth rate of local internet, in near future we will need a LOCAL search engine.
All the countries (to my knowledge) have their own web search-engines. We are like the only country that doesn’t have one.
YES Google and Yahoo are efficient and give us “good” results. We all have to agree the results are somewhat biased and some are junk. Then again if you search for “dhivehi” in Google 80% results are blocked by the authorities.
My questions … .can’t we have a local search-engine. Can’t we have a local website archive (cache) such as archive.org. We will have to, in a not-too-distant-future.

While writing this I searched “failure” on Google. The top result was the “Biography of President George W. Bush”.
Biased, we all agree. We all want a local result for our queries.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh
This is funny but what will be the result for the word “failure” on our Imaginary Local Search Engine. tssssssss

From the hype.

Ain't this baby cute?
Intel should learn from AMD in replacing those heatsinks with liquid-cooled one like this.
Performance is awesome, best ever for gamming.
.... YES I installed one AMD FX55. ;)

Rf 500 for ₤ 5 ?!

When searching stuff about Maldives on Ebay, I found this Item.
Its a Rf 500 note with a max bid of ₤ 5.50.
It wont cost $20 for a Maldivian to ship this note home. Still the buyer gets a profit more than 100%. This listing will end on August 12th, so still got some time for a "risky" decision. ;)

The UNKNOWN Facts of THE MALDIVIANs Organisation

The reason for the back-dropping wedding photo is to lure more hints to investigation on the sensitivity of this romantic portrait. So far anyone who possessed a copy of this pic was given the honour of a Traitor, Terrorist, GPS Theif or some "Wannabe".

There seem to have some chemistry between M.L.U.G(maldives Linux Users Group) and "The Unknown Facts of Maldives" a.k.a themaldivian.org+factmaldives.com. Is it just the Wedding pic or is it the creativity.
As being a member of MLUG, I for one would like to comment on your work.

*Who is "The UNKNOWN Facts of THE MALDIVIANs Organisation"?
Its a name given to the group who are running both factmaldives.com and the maldivian.org web sites. Everybody knows who these guys are. For the people who want to know, they are the so called To-Serve-And-Protect group who were assigned for the tasks:

-1.keeping the people confused about the inhumane, unjust or unethical stuff they do.

-2.comment on anything Dhivehi Observer publishes.

-3.publish graphic materials by ripping off some proffesionally done graphic. (There's no single cartoon created by themselves, they just cut and paste the faces)

-4.humiliate anyone who seem to know abit more than they do.

Last few days they seem to have got nothing (good)to write about their bosses. The only talent they have. They seem to have started a campaign against the individual who know a bit more than they do. Ashraf and Chopey seems to be their first targets. Their meaning for the word "EXPOSED" is hard to understand. Its not an exposure when you know so little about someone. Try to get the correct term for that. Both articles about Chopey and Ashraf does not highlight any secrets. The only thing new in those articles were things made up. GPS theif?, hehehe give me a break. These guys seems to be running out of ideas already. breath in, breath out , breath in ...

Got some advice for you (The UNKNOWN Facts of THE MALDIVIANs Organisation).
Try to learn something. The reason why those MLUG members are on high IT jobs at Dhiraagu, Focus Infocom, Watania ....etc.. is why they know a bit more than you. The reason for you being in that room behind some closed doors spreading rumours and replacing faces on cartoons is the fact that there is some knowledge you must gain.
You guys couldn't maintan a simple PHP-coded website(hacked maldivian.org). Why? Simple...because it was NOT created by you.

Simply bluffing your visitors with something like -http://www.factmaldives.com/news/x/news$+id=0947.htm?module=displaystory&story_id=782&format=html_
does NOT make you a hard coder or make you wiser. Its pathetic. There is no shame on letting the extensions be as .HTML . There is no programming code on either sites tsk tsk.

YES tsunamimaldives.mv was created by these creative individuals. It is based on the the maldivian-created PHP implementation of an MVC framework MEDUSA. Mind you .... Its NOT a ripp-off. Its developed by a Maldivian and its called creativity. And about Mr.Simon, He created more sites than all your rumour articles put together. And majority of his creations are of the government's, :P

If both of your sites were resourced with some sensible articles you could have got some publicity. Your sites seems to have less visitors/traffic than most of the blogs by Maldivians.

TRAFFIC DETAILS on themaldivian.org COMPARED to haveeru.com.mv and minivannews.com

Try to learn something. If you lack creativity, ask and learn from the people who know. Thats the only way you can get out of that Hell-Hole and get accepted by some place of importance/knowledge/creativity.
