Dugged, Hammered, and Downed

Got a wakeup call around 2:30am alarming the state of my playground vakaruge.com which was on the front page of Digg.com. Slept for another 2 hours and checked the site ... DOWNED.

The curse of the DIGG effect hit, my bandwidth exceeded more than 30GBs in 6 hours or so.
Chopey got it covered very early with this screen. As of now, 1100+ diggs and counting...
Kevin Rose (the creator of DIGG) was one of the guys who dugg the story.

It was a collection of Island maps from the TV series Lost which I cropped in July last year and one pic which I added last week.

I have transferred the files to a temporary mirror at mobsend, and have mailed to my hosting provider for a quick recovery.

its good that vakaruge has reached the digg homepage. but the thing is we aint that protected against a digg effect dhoa. how can we, cause not all our posts are targeted to digg and we cant purchase extra bandwidth preparing for a diggeffect right. however we can work with mirrors and there are lots more we can do. lets hope that next time it will be safe from a diggstruction
