After many years with Symbian, I recently switched to Windows Mobile. I still think Symbian is way better on mobile than Windows, Linux or MacOS.
The first problem I had with Windows Mobile was the Caller ID with SMS. It showed the number +960xxxxxxx instead of the contact on my phone book. A friend suggested me some tool (program) he used to fix it. Memory limits forced me to look for alternatives. Most probably the ID is not shown because we have 7 digits instead of 8 or more in most countries.
I found this registry fix for the callerID problem.
First you need to download a free Registry Editor for windows mobile. I recommend
PHM Registry Editor.Browse to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone\In Value name:
CallIDMatchChange Value data: from
8 to
7.
Reset the phone and you’re done.
UPDATE*For ppl who are having the same problem with Motorola V series (
subcorpus), you need a SEEM editor. These links might help.
1. HOW-TO: SEEM edit2. SEEM mapI don't own a Moto, but I am pretty confident this is doable.
